This spring, Royal Mail Hotel will debut a new Literary Salon Series, bringing together Booker-Prize shortlisted novelist Charlotte Wood and The Monthly editor Michael Williams, for an intimate evening of conversation, fine food and ideas on Saturday 24 October 2026.
A truly unique event, the salon offers a rare opportunity to engage with Wood in a room small enough for genuine exchange, with capacity for just 22 guests. One of the most acclaimed voices in Australian fiction, Wood’s latest novel Stone Yard Devotional was shortlisted for the 2024 Booker Prize and named amount the top 10 books of 2025 by both The New York Times and The Washington Post.
Weekend packages for the event are $1490 for 2 and include: two nights’ accommodation, tickets to Saturday’s Literary Salon dinner including matched wines and Friday evening at Parker St Project. Solo pricing, room upgrades and dining upgrade to Wickens at Royal Mail Hotel are available.
