Program
Musical performance was an integral part of entertainment at the Versailles royal court, where the refinement of the dance suite was celebrated and royal patronage nurtured outstanding musicians. Parisian salons and concert venues displayed an increasing interest in Italian music. This concert program unites court and city: French grandeur and sensibility combines with Italian brilliance in music composed by virtuoso performers of the time.
