Too many wedding disruptions? Consider eloping

It’s a frustrating time to be having a wedding. There have been endless disruptions due to COVID-19, with seemingly no end in sight. If getting married isn’t about having a big party, have you considered eloping to the Royal Mail Hotel?

Whether your family is scattered all over the world and can’t travel, or belts have to be tightened in these uncertain times, your wedding doesn’t have to be postponed. In fact, there is no better time to elope.

An elopement can be the perfect way to celebrate your love. With a smaller group of family and friends around you, it allows for a more personalised day. You can spend more quality time with each guest. Plus, there may be more space in your budget to stay longer at Royal Mail Hotel and really allow time to put your feet up and relax as a family.

Additionally, a smaller celebration allows you to stray further from tradition or, contrastly, cosy up to what is really important to you as a couple. Either way, Royal Mail Hotel will make your special day. After all, beauty is in the details, right? Here is what we can do for you.

Wedding Ceremony Location

Royal Mail Hotel has many beautiful locations across the properties to host your ceremony. From ancient trees with views of Wurgarri (Mount Sturgeon), to the picturesque kitchen garden, a small group of your nearest and dearest makes these locations even more intimate.

If you want the feeling of grandeur, the Mount Sturgeon Homestead offers an elegant location. With the wrap around porch and lawns looking at the mountain range, you and your family can enjoy champagne from the comfort of an 1800’s homestead. It sleeps 12 and the Mount Sturgeon cottages are a short walk away.

Wedding Photo Opportunities

A small wedding opens up all sorts of possibilities for photos. Climb to the top of a mountain, wander through the orchards or simply sit back and relax on the porch of the homestead – let nature be your muse.

Open Fires and Gariwerd Night Sky

Nothing marks a special occasion more than an open fire and a Gariwerd (Grampians) starry night sky. Our team can set up a fire pit at our Mount Sturgeon property, so you and your family can sit back and reflect on a day you will never forget.
